Marvel's Spider-Man Video Game Series
A series of open-world action adventure games about one of Marvel's most famous superheroes. Insomniac Games studio, which also has in its portfolio such titles as Ratchet & Clank or the first three installments of the series Spyro the Dragon.
History of Marvel's Spider-Man series
The series was initiated by the game Marvel's Spider-Man, released in 2018 for the PlayStation 4. The main character of the production is Peter Parker, well known from comic books, movies and TV series. He leads a double life: by day he is an ordinary student, and in secret from others he puts on a superhero costume and fights the villains shaking New York. The title is not an adaptation of any of the comic book adventures of Spider-Man. Instead, the developers created their own storyline, using classic themes from Stan Lee's works. A little over two years after the release of the first part of the series, a sequel was released on the market, titled Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Here, Miles Morales took over Parker's inheritance and, as the second Spider-Man, fought crime in New York City. The game relied on the proven formula developed for the original.
In 2022, the following came to personal computers Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, which had previously been available on PlayStation 5 only as a bundle with the adventures of Miles Morales (it was eventually released as a standalone item for that platform as well). Meanwhile, November also saw the release on PC of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
The year 2023 brought the release of the full-fledged second installment of the series, the game Marvel's Spider-Man 2. This time the Spider-Man duo must face three iconic adversaries, led by Kraven the Hunter and the Lizard.
Gameplay in the Marvel's Spider-Man series games
Key gameplay elements in the games in the series Marvel's Spider Man are combat and traversing a vast, open world. Clashes are implemented in an arcade format reminiscent of the series Batman: Arkham. During them we use a wide range of gadgets, as well as the strength and speed of Spider-Man. However, if we do not want to draw the attention of opponents, we can also eliminate them silently. In addition to standard clashes, in some stages we take dynamic QTE sequences or, using the protagonist's acrobatic abilities, overcome various terrain obstacles.
New York itself has been reproduced with great care, and traversing it is very fast and fun thanks to a refined system of climbing and swinging on a spider web. In addition to the main missions, the city is also filled with side quests and activities, unlocked as you progress through the storyline.

An open world action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games. The player assumes the role of the titular Spider-Man who faces the criminal underworld of New York. The gameplay is based on three pillars. The first one is exploration. The second one is completing various main and side missions. The protagonist is a superhero that can crawl and run across walls and use his web to swing on long distances. The acrobatic abilities of Spider-Man are used during Quick Time Events, special scenes with spectacular actions during which the player must press specific buttons with the right timing. The third pillar of the game is combat – during the dynamic fights the protagonist uses his fists, legs, spider web and elements of the environment – he can for example throw the latter at opponents or he can pin an opponent to a wall using his web. The game features stealth sequences as well – the player might sneak past enemies or eliminate them undetected. The title features high-quality graphics. It looks even better on PlayStation 4 Pro, where it is generated in higher resolution.
