The plot revolves around the kidnapping of Leonardo DaVinci by the cult of Hermeticists. The extension also offers a new map, the Alhambra, which is located in Grenada.

A sandbox game taking place in outer space, developed by debuting developer ZanMgt. Blockade Runner introduces certain elements found in the cult-classic Minecraft to an interstellar setting, and adds a number of innovative ideas of its own. We begin the adventure by building a spaceship, a procedure which involves adding functional blocks to a metal frame. The vessel is then used to explore the procedurally-generated galaxy where almost any object can be destroyed at will.

The DLC introduces new storylines connected to a mysterious island located off the coast of the Gallows End continent. On the island, the player character faces dark magic and new, powerful enemies. Once the player completes the main storyline, they are allowed to explore the new areas freely and complete an entire set of side quests given by NPCs.

Production put emphasis on freedom and spectacular combat scenes.
