Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth: How do Willpower and other statistics work?
What is the significance of Willpower in Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth? On this page of the guide we explain the workings of this statistic and the other main character parameters. You will also learn how to permanently or temporarily increase the value of Willpower.
When developing party members in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, you may have trouble understanding how the Willpower statistic works. In this guide, we have explained the advantages and ways to develop Willpower. You will also learn about the operation and significance of the other main statistics of your characters.
What does the Willpower do?

- Willpower is 1 of the 7 main statistics available to each of the game's playable characters. Understanding its significance in the context of character development is not obvious.
- Willpower is responsible for the effectiveness of protection against enemy magical attacks. The higher the Willpower, the more damage of a given magical attack can be reduced.
- Magic attacks include those that use fire, electricity and ice - the three main elements in the game. The higher the value of the opponent's Magic statistic, the more base damage their magical attack can deal. Magical attacks never miss, but on the other hand, they cannot deal critical damage.
How to increase Willpower?

- Willpower increases along with other statistics each time you level up a character. Unfortunately, these are small increases - usually by a few points.
- You can temporarily increase Willpower with equipment. The greatest increase is guaranteed by Gear - headgear, armor and boots. In the description of a given item, you will find out how much Willpower can increase after equipping it (38 in our example).

- You can also equip Accessories that increase Willpower. An example could be all items from the Earrings group. In our example, placing Diamond Earrings in one of the active Willpower slots will increase it by as much as 40 points.
Other important character statistics
You need to understand and track the development of all heroes' statistics so that they do not have any obvious weaknesses. The remaining stats are:
- HP - health points. Reaching 0 points means that the hero is knocked to the ground (you have to revive them) or that the battle is lost (if the party leader has fallen - Ichiban in the chapters in Honolulu or Kiryu in later chapters in Yokohama). You can restore your health with medicines and skills.
- MP - these are Mental Points, i.e. mana. 0 points mean that you cannot use skills that consume MP. You can replenish your mana using items and skills.
- Attack - the statistic is responsible for the physical damage dealt.
- Defense - the statistic is responsible for reducing damage from enemy physical attacks.
- Magic - the statistic is responsible for the magical damage dealt (ice, fire, electricity).
- Agility - a statistic that determines how often a given character will get their turn during combat. Characters with higher Agility can move more often during the same fight.
- Resistance - these are resistances to various types of attacks, weapons and elements, which can significantly reduce their strength. They can be among the statistics that described the gear.
