Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth: How to change the appearance of characters in your party?

One of the customization options in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, is changing the appearance of characters in your party. On this page of our guide, we show how to unlock and equip new outfits, as well as answer whether changing appearance affects statistics and available skills of the given hero.

Unlocking changing rooms

1. In Infinite Wealth, you can equip your heroes with new items such as armor or rings and other similar objects, but equipped items do not affect the standard appearance of the hero. They only affect the statistics of heroes.
2. The only way of changing the appearance of given hero is equipping a Costume. Each of the outfits is treated as a cosmetic item, i.e. wearing it doesn't affect the statistics or available skills of the hero.
3. The option to change appearance is connected to the Job mechanic - we describe it in detail on the How to change Job? page. You must advance to Chapter 5 to unlock access to Alo-Happy Tours. In the venues of this travel agency, aside from the ability to take a trip (learning new Jobs) you'll find a changing room. It is used both for changing Jobs, and changing the appearance of the heroes.

1. After the introduction to the travel agency, you can return to any Alo-Happy Tours venue and use Alo-Happy Room. These are also changing rooms that operate on the same principle. All locations associated with Alo-Happy are marked with a green palm tree icon on the map.

Choosing an outfit and equipping it

1. You must first select a Job (current or other) - a list of outfits will then appear. The list includes outfits related to the given Job and outfits available to every Job.

1. By default, change in appearance is seen only during combat. At the moment of the beginning of a clash, the standard outfit is changed to the one related to your Job.
2. This remains in effect until you finish the story for the first time. With NG+ playthroughs, alternate outfits will be visible in other fragments of the game, e.g. during exploration.

Unlocking new costumes for heroes

1. New outfits are unlocked along with your progress in the game. For example, you can receive a unique outfit for viewing all Drink Links for the given hero. These are meetings in hideouts where you engage in longer conversations, get to know your allies better and solve their personal problems.
2. Another way to gain more outfits is buying the Deluxe or Ultimate editions of the game. They offer bonus outfits packs, e.g. swimsuits for all playable heroes. More information about the contents of individual editions of Infinite Wealth can be found on Game Editions page of the guide.
