Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth: How to unlock the northern part of Isezaki Ijincho?

In the first hours of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, you may have trouble accessing northern Isezaki Ijincho. Our guide explains where artificial blockades appear and how to unlock the entire Yokohama map to discover 100% of the secrets.

North Isezaki Ijincho inaccessible

1. In Infinite Wealth, similarly to previous installments of Yakuza series, the game may temporarily block access to some parts of the map for story purposes. After starting the campaign, only a small area of Yokohama - the area adjacent to Hello Work, Ichiban's workplace - will be available.
2. After finishing the prologue, the game will unlock the southern part of Isezaki Ijincho, but the northern part of the Yokohama map will remain unavailable. There are red X signs on the city map, and when you try to cross the border, Ichiban will automatically turn around and make a short comment that there are no matters to deal with in this part of the city.

Unlocking 100% of the Yokohama map

1. The northern part of Isezaki Ijincho is unlocked after beginning Chapter 2 - Paradise, Hawaiian Style. You'll receive an objective to meet an important NPC in Chinatown, which is in the north-eastern part of the map.
2. Depending on how much you were in a hurry, you should complete chapter 1 in about 2-3 hours, so you don't have to wait very long to be able to fully discover the map.
3. From now on, after your return to Yokohama, the entire map should be free to explore as you please. You don't have to completely explore the map before embarking to Hawaii, as you'll be back in Yokohama after the events in Honolulu are concluded.
