We finally lived to see the release of version 1.0 of World of Horror. This Polish game, inspired by Japanese horror stories, was received very warmly on Steam.
Yesterday, after more than three years in early access, version 1.0 of World of Horror has been released. It is a Polish game combining RPG and roguelike elements, inspired by Japanese horror comics (especially the works of Junji Ito) and made in the so-called 1-bit style, reminiscent of titles from Apple II and PC-88 computers.
The early version of the game has met with a very warm reception - on Steam 94% of all reviews praise World of Horror. While counting only those from the last 30 days, 84% are positive.
Before the release of version 1.0, the latest reviews were mixed, but this was mainly due to numerous delays. After leaving early access, however, Steam began to be flooded with comments praising World of Horror. Thanks to this, already in the morning, the game's reception in the last 30 days changed to "mostly positive" to turn into "very positive" shortly thereafter (these thresholds are reached at 70% and 80% positive reviews, respectively).
The road to version 1.0 has been very bumpy.
It should be mentioned that the game is friendly to modders, who are able to easily create new adventures for it. The best of those already released is Pale Hand.
Finally, it is worth quoting the system requirements of the PC version of the game, which are extremely modest. Only the minimum configuration has been made available, as the game does not have any graphics options, the inclusion of which could make it more demanding.
