Amazon's MMORPG New World Delayed for Third Time
Amazon Game Studios' MMORPG titled New World has been delayed once again. The developers explain that they are still working on new game modes, locations and mechanics.
- New World's release date has been pushed back to August 31, 2021;
- Closed beta will start over a month earlier, on July 20;
- The developers are currently working on a new location, two game modes and fishing mechanics.
The release date for Amazon Game Studios' upcoming MMORPG New World has been delayed, and not for the first time. The main creator of the game, Scot Lane, announced the postponement of the full version in a special video, which is actually the studio's report on what it is currently working on. This decision, however, was not made due to development problems, the developers reportedly came up with some new ideas that they would like to introduce before the release, that is, August 31, 2021 (and the closed beta will start over a month earlier, July 20).
What kind of "ideas" are we talking about here? This includes a new endgame location called Ebonscale Reach. It's a terrain full of cliffs and vegetation based on the Far Eastern region. In addition, the creators continue to develop the location known to alpha-testers - Reekwater.
Amazon Game Studios is also working on two new gameplay modes, Expeditions and Outpost Rush. The first one is based on several expeditions to the depths of crypts, dungeons or temples, during which we will face demanding opponents and discover many secrets. The second focuses more on competition, as it will be a 20 on 20 battle of players with the strategic use of fortifications and special weapons.
And when it comes to details, Lane assures that he is doing his best to slightly diversify the quests, improve the combat system and make crafting more convenient. In addition, the fishing mechanics were added - seemingly a small thing, but it's something. But how will it look like in practice? Answer to this question will be revealed in the middle of summer.
