Among Us Gets Great Live-action Short Film

A short live-action movie inspired by Among Us appeared on YouTube. Jay Samuelz and Arya Lee showed the dread of the game's basic premise when it's not hidden behind the simple visuals of the original.

Among Us is undoubtedly the biggest phenomenon of the second half of 2020 (or all of it). It is not surprising that the Internet has been flooded by a wave of creative project inspired by the game, such as images, animations, etc. What stands out against their background is certainly the work of Jay Samuelz and Arya Lee: a short live-action film inspired by Among Us. The video has been watcher "only" a bit less than half a million times since its publication on November 2, but 94,000 likes with less than a thousand thumbs down show that it has captivated the imagination of Internet users. You can watch it below.

The abandonment of the game's simplistic visuals means that there is nothing left of the original's light atmosphere in the 12-minute work of German film lovers (known for publishing videos on the subject, but also their own production under the name of Leegendaryafilms). Instead, live-action Among Us is a thoroughbred horror movie in the vein of The Thing, though rather bloodless. However, people familiar with Among Us will find familiar elements here: fact-based alibis faces off against unfounded accusations when crewmates try to figure out which one is the killer monster.
