Among Us Lost a Ton of Popularity; CS:GO Remains on Top

The popularity of Among Us on Steam has significantly decreased over the last 30 days. Meanwhile, Valve's free shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has reached, once again this year, one million simultaneous players.

Among Us is definitely one of the biggest surprises of the year. This simple game, thanks to the help of streamers from Twitch.tv, has experienced a real renaissance in recent months. The best period for InnerSloth's work was the turn of September and October - it was then that an average of more than 250 thousand gamers a day was playing Among Us on Steam (and there were more than 400 thousand of them at the peak), although the total number is certainly much higher due to the popularity of the title on mobile devices. However, everything seems to indicate that currently, the interest in Among Us is starting to decrease.

Looking at the data from SteamDB, in October we can see a downward trend in the number of simultaneously active players. The game is not so popular on Twitch either - the number of streamed hours in the last 30 days has dropped by about 36% and the number of watched hours has dropped by about 27%. At this point it is hard to say whether the updates announced by the devs will positively influence the interest of Among Us gamers.

By the way, the popularity of other games on Steam is also worth mentioning, for example Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the free online shooter from Valve. This title has once again surpassed the barrier of one million gamers playing at the same time. What's more, this year was the best year for the game since its inception. And while it seemed like the lack of bold changes wouldn't do the game any good, CS:GO has proven that so far nothing can put a dent in such huge popularity.
