Anno 1800 announced at gamescom 2017

Ubisoft has announced that Anno 1800 is in development and is scheduled to launch in late 2018. See the reveal trailer straight from gamescom 2017.

The next entry in the popular historical strategy series Anno has been announced during this week’s gamescom 2017. Anno 1800 is currently in development by Ubisoft Blue Byte, the creators of The Settlers IP, and is scheduled to launch in the winter of 2018 – which coincides with the 20th anniversary of the franchise. Here’s the first trailer:

After the last two core installments – Anno 2205 released in 2015 and Anno 2070 from 2011 – which would take us into the future, the series is going back to the past once again. In Anno 1800 players will get to establish and manage an oversee colony in the eventful 19th century – the time of the Industrial Revolution and great scientific and geographical discoveries. As for gameplay, fans can expect a similar experience to what they know from previous games, plus some necessary changes and improvements. However, we will have to wait a bit more for any details on the latter.

Anno fans may also want to get familiar with the newly opened Anno Union program, where they can find all the fresh news and share their opinions with the developer.
