Season 9 is about to launch in Apex Legends, it's title is Legacy. The massive update introduces a new legend, Arenas, and a ton of changes and fixes.
Another legend is coming soon to Apex Legends. This time it's Kairi "Valkyrie" Imahara, whose story we could learn thanks to the recently published video. Now, Respawn Entertainment also released a video detailing the character, including her most powerful ability, which enables not only Valkyrie, but also nearby allies, to soar through the air.
However, while the debut of a new legend is undoubtedly a big deal, it's just one of many new features. The huge list of changes in the Legacy update also includes arenas - 3-on-3 elimination battles. As the name suggests, clashes take place on specially prepared battlefields, and at launch we received five arenas: three based on battle royale maps (i.e. King's Canyon, Edge of the World and Olympus) and two completely new ones. Fights take place in rounds (up to nine), and at the beginning of each round we can use the resources acquired in previous rounds to purchase and upgrade equipment.

Legacy is also a new weapon in the form of Bocek bow and many, many changes. The city of Olympus has been overrun by giant plants, and the developers have made a number of small, but significant improvements to it (including the removal of two balloons on the map). Players will also start the game with a starter kit, and at the same time the chance for some of the items available in it to spawn as loot on the map has been reduced or completely removed (for example, level 1 helmets).
There's also the addition of emotes (which the developers have taken care to set the camera so that they don't give an unfair advantage) and the balance of legends and weapons. Examples of changes include the removal of the Lifeline shield when using the combat resurrection ability (but instead it can bring two characters back to life at once), the introduction of a new weapon category (including the Bocek bow, but also some older weapons) and the rotation of supply drops.
There were also some quality of life (QoL) and bug fixes. Legacy is - of course - also a new battle pass. The full (and very long) list of changes for Apex Legends Season 9, along with a commentary from the developers, can be found in a post by Respawn Entertainment on Reddit. All of this will hit the game on May 4.
