Dark and Darker is a popular Dungeon Crawler game. It is currently in the playtest phase. Hundreds of thousands of people play it every day. So it is not surprising that the developers are trying to make it work for everyone. One of the steps they have taken to do this is to make Dark and Darker DX11 compatible. In this article, we'll talk about it.
DX11 and DX12 are versions of DirectX software. In a nutshell, we can say that it is responsible for the smooth rendering of graphics and video (although it is not limited to this). It is thanks to this software that you can see beautiful graphic effects (including Raytracing) on your monitors every day. It is therefore very important.
The answer to the above is linked to another important question - do you have problems with Dark and Darker? The game uses DX12 by default, so newer software. If the title works fine for you, then you don't need to do anything at all.
In case the game causes some problems for some reason, and the graphical effects don't look like they should, then you might want to consider trying DX11.
UPDATE: You should try DX11 if you own older graphics cards. Then you have the best chance of seeing results. Owners of newer hardware should rather run the game with DX12. You don't have to do anything to do this, the game launches automatically in this mode.
