ATS With 96% Positive Reviews on Steam; It's So Real a Company is Scouting It for Drivers

SCS Software, developers of American Truck Simulator, has announced a partnership with a real trucking company. As part of the deal, billboards with job offers for big truck enthusiasts have appeared in the popular simulator.

Playing FIFA most likely won't turn you into a professional soccer player, and neither will Star Wars Jedi: Survivor make you a Jedi knight. However, if you are an avid player of American Truck Simulator, you can become a real truck driver.

Here's the thing, unique billboards have recently appeared in this one of the most popular truck simulators. They depict advertisements for a real trucking company that is looking for new drivers. The job offers are also real, including the chance to train to obtain a commercial driver's license for applicants who don't have one.

"[...] when we were approached by Schneider National to help with a recruitment campaign, we were excited to collaborate, as this is something new, and enables us to meet the needs of the entire transportation industry, given the current shortage of qualified drivers," reads an excerpt from the announcement on SCS Software's blog .

It's hardly surprising that the company approached the Czech developers specifically for help. Both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and its American sibling are incredibly popular among the players. Despite the fact that both games have been on the market for a long time, interest in them is not waning at all. Not to be all talk, it is enough to mention that ATS has more than 128 thousand reviews on Steam, of which as many as 96% (124073) are positive.

SCS Software also notes that these types of ads are "in trial phase" for now. They have been limited only to ATS and appear only in English. However, it can be expected that if the concept works out, it may also be transferred to ETS2.
