IN A NUTSHELL:
- BG3 received its fourth major patch, titled Nature's Power;
- The update introduced the druid class to the game and made big changes to the animated scenes and dialogues;
- We also received a number of interface fixes and an optional Loaded Dice mechanic.
The developers at Larian Studios announced that Baldur's Gate III has received its fourth major update. The so-called Patch 4 is titled Nature's Power and is the biggest patch to date for the highly anticipated RPG.
The most interesting of the new features is the playable class of Druid - a magic user who can change into various types of animals. This ability can be useful during both combat and exploration (some forms can be used in combat, but also enable you to talk to animals of a particular type).
Druids have access to two specializations - so-called circles. The Circle of Earth enables you to improve your magic skills related to a specific type of terrain. The Circle of the Moon, on the other hand, offers a greater ability to transform into animals - by choosing it, we gain access to the powerful form of a polar bear.
The patch also makes changes to the animated cutscenes and dialogues, introduces new spells and numerous interface improvements. An interesting novelty is also an optional Loaded Dice mechanic - when activated, it makes it impossible for the player to have extremely bad or good luck with dice rolls (we can't throw 1 or 20 on a K20 dice several times in a row).
It is worth noting that the release of the patch sparked an increased interest in the title - in the last 24 hours the number of people playing simultaneously jumped to 6975, which is the best result since November 14.
Baldur's Gate III launched in Steam Early Access on October 6, last year. The release date of the full version is unknown for now, but we know that in addition to PC, it will also be coming to Google Stadia.
