Larian Studios is undoubtedly not idle. Although not even two weeks have passed since the release of Baldur's Gate II, the developer has already released four updates - so-called "hotfixes" - introducing more than 650 fixes to the game. In turn, more updates are on the way - both big and small.

Swen Vincke - founder and CEO of Larian Studios, as well as director of the third Baldur - informed today on Twitter/X that the entire team is very enthusiastic about the feedback received from the players. Currently, the developers are making efforts to solve the problems reported by the community, while listening to their further suggestions. The developers' plan for the near future is to release:

  1. one more "hotfix";
  2. the first full patch - an update larger than all previous hotfixes combined; Vincke reported that it it will introduce more than 1,000 changes and fixes (it is possible that one of them will be the ability to edit the player character in the course of the game, which is demanded by the community);
  3. a second major patch.

Although the developer didn't give any dates, Larian Studios' attitude so far enables us to hope that we won't have to wait too long for the aforementioned updates. The developers are certainly keen to polish the game as much as possible before its release on PS5, which is scheduled for September 6.
