BattleCry put on hold

BattleCry, BattleCry Studios’arena-based multiplayer shooter, is no longer in development – at least for now. Its production has been halted and will have to wait until the developer has finished dealing with other projects.

If you were anticipating brutal combat action, team-based pvp warfare and intense tactical gameplay BattleCry was to deliver, you’ll have to remain patient. BattleCry Studios’ third-person tactical multiplayer shooter’s development has been suspended due to “not meeting the quality standards” the publisher (Bethesda) aimed for. And while it doesn’t necessarily mean that the game’s been written off completely (the beta signup, for instance, is still available), the title’s future isn’t certain anymore.

Viktor Antonov is BattleCry’s lead designer. His portfolio? City 17 (Half-Life 2) and Dunwall (Dishonored). Promising enough for me.

Meanwhile, BattleCry Studios continues working on Doom’s multiplayer (in cooperation with id Software.) How long will their self-made project will remain on hold, we cannot (yet) predict.
