Although the debut of Battlefield 2042 did not turn out to be very successful compared to other installments of the series, EA DICE does not intend to quickly abandon its work. In the latest video from the developer, in addition to information about the upcoming season two, there was also a mention of the future season 3, in which the company intends to combine the specialist system with character classes known from previous games.
As the developers themselves admit, the introduction of the specialist system strongly polarized the game community. For this reason the team decided to divide the characters appearing in the game into different classes. As a result, all characters from a certain group will get access to standarized throwing equipment and gadgets. It is worth noting that specialists will still have unlimited access to all shooting weapons. With this approach, DICE can theoretically satisfy both new and old fans of the series.

In addition to this change, the company is preparing many improvements related to the audiovisuals in the near future. For example, significant changes are to be made to character models, which will receive a look more suited to the realities of the game world. In addition Renewal and Orbital maps are to be significantly rebuilt so that gameplay on them is more pleasant for infantry.
