Black Ops 7 and Prototype 3 are the main characters of the latest leaks in the gaming world
Rumors regarding the next Call of Duty sequel to Black Ops 2 have appeared online, but that's not all, as a new game in the Prototype series may also be in the pipeline.
Over the weekend, two interesting rumors appeared. The first one concerns the next installment of Call of Duty, and the second, it would seem, the already forgotten Prototype series. Remember to take them with a grain of salt, as they haven't been officially confirmed.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 - rumors
According to leaks, the next installment of Call of Duty is to be subtitled Black Ops 7 and will be a sequel to Black Ops 2. A Reddit user by the nickname Bigbyy shared a few details about it (via Insider Gaming).
- The plot will take us to the year 2035 and will be a continuation of the Black Ops 2 story. It will also include the characters of Woods and Mason. Furthermore, it will offer an open world called "Avalon" and cooperation for up to 4 players.
- In Zombie mode, the original crew from different universes will be back with some new twists, the Tranzit map will get a refresh, and the gameplay will be in rounds. We will also receive the largest map in the history of the mode, and the whole thing will be more focused on the plot.
- The "omnimovement" will return, along with wall running.
- In multiplayer mode, there will be an option for a 32 vs 32 player battle.
- Several changes of popular maps are planned in a futuristic, Japanese style.
- Everything has been designed to offer a progression system, including grenades, kill streaks, and perks.
- Plans regarding progress in multiplayer mode will be transferred from Black Ops 6.
Some of the details shared by the user align with what the Insider Gaming editorial team has heard. So we have a slight confirmation that they aren't completely made up.
Is Prototype 3 coming?
However, this is not the only information that Bigbyy shared on Reddit. He said he got some info about a new game in the Prototype series, the last one came out in 2012.
He claims that in the new game, the main character will be Alex Mercer again, and we will be able to change shape and transform into other people to "infiltrate areas." Meanwhile, the game's setting will be in New York. Insider Gaming reached out to Bigbyy to learn the source of the details and received the given information:
[It] was YouGov survey which asked me to sign an NDA and confirm that I would not disclose the contents. It then confirmed a series of features that upcoming games will include and how popular this was with me [percentage wise]. It was not a playtest but did specify that these features were already planned as part of upcoming games.
Insider Gaming hasn't yet verified the information regarding the new Prototype.
