Black pixels and background in NMS will be fixed soon

Despite the years, No Man’s Sky is still receiving fresh content. Recently released Worlds Part 2 introduced engine enhancements, new quests and resources. Unfortunately, the update also added a bug that causes black pixels to appear on the screen.

Like I said earlier, Worlds Part 2 introduced the annoying graphics bug. Players report that the background elements on the screen are covered with black pixels. Additionally, some people notice a strange frame around their screen. Although it doesn't make No Man’s Sky impossible to play, it is still annoying.

However, there are signs that only a specific group of people is at risk of experiencing this glitch. When we look at affected players’ specifications, we can see that many of them have AMD graphic cards (especially Radeon RX 7000 series) or they are playing on Mac.

If you are one of the people who have this GPU and experienced this bug, then at this point there are only temporary solutions. You can change your graphics settings (no matter how) or switch between Full Screen and Bordered window. This will restore regular colors for a while.

However, there is good news. Developers released Experimental Branch 03/02, where people can test upcoming patches. The latest patch notes reveal that many visual glitches are fixed in this version. As it turns out, the problem with black pixels is among them. However, the frame issue seems to be still present.

If you want to test the newest update ahead of others, you must right-click No Man’s Sky in your Steam Library and choose Properties. Next, you should click on "Betas" Tab, write “3xperimental” in textbox and press “Check Code”. Now, it remains to wait for Hello Games to release this patch to the main branch.
