Callisto Protocol Looks Great in New Gameplay Video

A new interview with the head of Striking Distance, the studio responsible for The Callisto Protocol, has appeared in the web. Glen Schofield's statements were supplemented with bloody gameplay footage from the upcoming survival horror game.

I'm unlikely to be wrong if I write that The Callisto Protocol is currently one of the most anticipated games to be released this year. The title will debut in December, so before the remake of the iconic Dead Space (scheduled for release on January 27, 2023), which Glen Schofield was also responsible for. However, this is not the only thing the two works have in common. The main element that binds the projects together is the chilling atmosphere.

Schofield - who is currently working at Striking Distance - promotes his new vision of space horror with an interview for Game Informer. This one, in turn, published this interview spiced with fresh shots from The Callisto Protocol.

Callisto Protocol was created... in the desert

In the video, which you can find below, the developer explains the process of creating the world and the creation of the title from an early concept. Interestingly, the idea for The Callisto Protocol was born in the desert in Tucson, where Schofield went with his wife. As it turns out, the relaxation was so conducive to the designer that he created the first outline of TCP in a sketchbook.

Gore, or what fans like best

However, it's not the interview itself that's at issue here, but three brand-new gameplay fragments (1:24, 2:33 and 4:20), recorded on next-gen hardware. Gameplay shows the protagonist moving through dark, dimly lit corridors. Attention is drawn to minor skirmishes with repulsive creatures. We must admit that visually it looks impressive and delightfully bloody.

The game will debut on December 2 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X..
