Striking Distance Studios develops a new game set in the world of The Callisto Protocol. However, it isn't a sequel to the survival horror game from 2022, but an action-packed production with the working title Project Birdseye.
Striking Distance Studios, known for the game The Callisto Protocol, announced a new project. The devs have released the game's first trailer with the working title Project Birdseye. The game won't be a continuation of the 2022 survival horror, but rather a roguelike game emphasizing fast-paced action and reflexes.
In Project Birdseye, we will move to the Black Iron prison known from The Callisto Protocol and play as one of its guards. Next, we will confront monsters that have taken over the complex, using firearms (such as shotguns or assault rifles) and melee weapons.
It seems that the financial failure of the direct rival of the Dead Space remake and the departure of part of the team discouraged the studio from working on more titles. As the developers emphasized, Project Birdseye is intended to "stretch their creative muscles" before the release of another AAA production. Thus, it's possible that The Callisto Protocol 2 is in the plans.
