CD Projekt Red Offers New Refund Options for Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red announced a new possibility to refund the controversial Cyberpunk 2077. Now you can also talk to the developers directly, and they don't rule out a cash back from their own pocket.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • CD Projekt Red extends a helping hand (with money) to users dissatisfied with the quality of Cyberpunk 2077, but this unique offer is valid only until December 21, 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077 is still being talked about (and even more so), even though it has been almost 10 days since the launch. I'm just not sure if the developers wanted this kind of publicity. The title has been a buggy from the very beginning, and the console versions nothing short of being a full blown mess. Player ratings of the PS4 version are disastrous. There are controversies surrounding the refunds and extensive patches are being released regularly and at short intervals. And now the developers have decided to spice things up with the option to apply for refunds directly from them.

CD Projekt Red has published the information on Twitter:

This applies to boxed versions purchased in retail. In this case, we can contact the developers for a refund by sending a message to a special e-mail address. Of course, proof of purchase is required. It is also worth to check in advance the possibilities of refund in the store where Cyberpunk 2077 was purchased. The message shows that CD Projekt Red will take action when the conventional way is no longer available (e.g. overdue, unpacked box). Time is limited, if someone is determined to return the game, they must hurry.

For those who don't give up easily, we inform that patch 1.05 is already available on consoles, and will probably soon appear on PCs. The new hotfix eliminates many bugs and improves optimization. Some players have rolled up their sleeves and are trying to improve the game by themselves, as various mods are created. And those interested in sales details and ratings of Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam are welcome to read this news.
