CDP's Angry Employees Attack Management Over CP2077

CD Projekt RED's board has called a meeting with the employees, the topic of which was the launch of Cyberpunk 2077. Angry developers have flooded their bosses with questions, pointing out hypocrisy and misconduct.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. The head of CD Projekt RED organized a teleconference with its employees, the main theme of which was the fatal launch of Cyberpunk 2077.
  2. During the conversation a lot of unpleasant comments and criticism were heard from the employees.

The angry employees of CD Projekt RED expressed their dissatisfaction during the meeting with the bosses. The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 was a PR disaster, but the controversy did not end there and when the information appeared that releasing the fatally-flawed version for last-gen consoles was a conscious decision, the anger of the gamers rose to the heights.

Due to this crisis situation, the board called a video conference with employees. We know what happened at the conference thanks to an article published by Bloomberg, revealing selected questions asked by the angry developers. The source of this information is two employees participating in the conference, who decided to share its content with a well-known gaming journalist - Jason Schreier.

The topics discussed during the meeting were the tarnished reputation of CD Projekt RED (which, since the release of The Witcher 3, has become something of a role model for gamedev studios), crunch that lasted a dozen or so months, and unrealistic deadlines, which the devteam's managers required to meet. The management apologized for the situation and answered that it will take all the responsibility for practically every criticism.

The questions we learned were not pleasant. One of the studio's employees wanted to know why the decision-makers had been lying to everyone around for a long time, saying that Cyberpunk 2077 was in great shape, when everyone knew that the project had huge problems. Another one, when asked about the aforementioned crunch, heard that action would be taken to minimize it. However, it's hard to believe it, since the situation with the development of Cyberpunk 2077 is identical to all previous CD Projekt RED works.

However, this time the quality of the final product is unable to defend the reputation of the creators, who are currently facing the growing problem of their game being returned on Microsoft's platform and withdrawn from sale on Sony's console.
