Civilization 6 - New Frontier Pass Becomes Bestseller Despite Criticism
Last week, the biggest bestseller on Steam turned out to be New Frontier Pass, the season pass for six DLCs to Sid Meier's Civilization VI. This success was achieved despite the fact that the reviews of the pass are mixed.
Valve released last week's list of best-selling game on Steam, chosen by revenue they generated. The list opens with Civilization VI - New Frontier Pass, a season pass providing access to six DLCs to the sixth part of the Civilization series. The first one was released last month, and the last one is to debut in March 2021.
The popularity of the New Frontier Pass is worth noting, especially given that the pass has not been warmly received. On Steam, only 59% of user ratings are positive. Players complain that the whole thing is too expensive for the content it offers. The low level of technical refinement is also criticized.
However, as you can see, this did not prevent the product from becoming a great success. Fans of Sid Meier's Civilization VI are so thirsty for new content that they made New Frontier Pass into last week's best-selling title anyway.
