Co-creator of BF: Bad Company 2 Announces Doom-like FPS

David Goldfarb, co-creator of such titles as BF: Bad Company 2 and PayDay 2, announced Metal: Hellsinger. The developer, together with trhe team at The Outsiders, is working on a rhythmic shooter with a heavy metal sound in the background.

IN A NUTSHELL

  • Metal: Hellsinger will be a combination of FPS and rhythm game.
  • The title is supposed to have a heavy metal soundtrack, which will change depending on our style of play.

On the occasion of IGN Summer of Gaming 2020, The Outsiders announced the rhythmic shooter Metal: Hellsinger. The game is to be released next year by Funcom. The title will resemble a bit the famous Doom series - it's supposed to be a dynamic FPS focused on taking out hellish hordes to the rhythm of heavy metal music.

Metal: Hellsinger was announced by industry veteran David Goldfarb, who co-created such productions as Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and PayDay 2. In an interview for IGN, the developer revealed some details about the game. The plot of the title will lead us into depth of hell, where we will fight for a new order.

The game is to have rhythmic character. Each level will have its own song, whose new themes will appear as we adjust our gameplay to the rhythm. "Shooting" into the dynamic of the song will enable us to unlock subsequent layers of melody until we hear its full sound.

Playing to the rhythm of the music will affect not only the accompanying soundtrack. As we synchronize with the tracks, our character will also do more damage.

Something tells me that our character will not be human.

The soundtrack was created with the involvement of such performers as:
