Trailer From Platige Image Announces CoH3 on Consoles

Relic Entertainment and Sega have confirmed that Company of Heroes 3 will be released on PS5 and XSX/S. The announcement was accompanied by a live-action trailer for the game prepared by Platige Image. Gameplay from the console version was also presented.

The approaching release of Company of Heroes 3 appears to be a dream come true for RTS fans. During Friday's The Game Awards 2022 gala it was confirmed that not only PC gamers, but also console owners have something to look forward to. Sometime after its debut on PC - scheduled for February 23, 2023 - the title will also be released on PS5 and XSX/S.

We learned this from the above live-action trailer, which was prepared by studio Platige Image - known, among others, for its impressive trailers for The Witcher 3. The footage is divided into four parts, consisting of short, dynamic shots in which we see faithfully portrayed soldiers or computer-generated 3D models of Panzer, Churchill and Sherman tanks and a P-47 Thunderbolt aircraft. The whole thing is meant to resemble a war movie.

If, on the other hand, you are curious how the console version of CoH3 presents itself in terms of gameplay, Relic Entertainment and Sega have also released more than 4 minutes of gameplay. The footage enables us to take a look at, among other things, the interface, which has been customized for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, or assess how the game will play on a gamepad.

As thoroughbred RTS games are scarce on consoles, among the relatively fresh and successful titles of the genre we should mention Halo Wars 2 from 2017, Company of Heroes 3 may become an ideal proposition for this niche. All that remains is to wait for the exact release date.
