‘Could be seen as educational’, a Stormworks player has packed the entire Shrek movie into the game, in 10 FPS and without sound
This may be the most bizarre thing you’ll see today, but this is just the wild world of Stormworks.

Stormworks Build and Rescue is the ultimate sandbox game. You get to build all sorts of vehicles – boats, planes, helicopters, you name it – and use them to tackle rescue missions and challenges in a massive open world. With its realistic physics engine, how well your creations perform is all about how you design them. So, naturally, Steam Workshop for Stormworks is packed with fan-made creations, whether they’re mods, machines, or just add-ons. But one person has taken things to the next level with their latest idea.
Rescuing people while watching Shrek, that’s the dream
From Snorkel Narco Sub to Seagull Ambience, Stormworks players have seen it all. But a full 90-minutes Shrek movie in a rescue vehicle-building game? That was totally unexpected. Sure, the movie runs at 10 FPS, with no sound or subtitles, but honestly, who needs that? We all probably know the whole first Shrek by heart at this point anyway.
As the creator, Bluejammer, says:
This is it, no tricks, no streaming, not sped up, it's all 90 minutes of Shrek stored in Stormworks at a resolution of 144x80 at 10fps…
…Sit back and watch the 9x5 monitor or look through the viewing scope!
And as always, the comments from the community are pure gold, with people praising Bluejammer as a hero. However, when someone pointed out that this could potentially get him into trouble, others wondered if it might be an actual copyright violation, arguing ‘it could be seen as an educational study in file compression’. So now, that is the creator’s statement. Well played.

For what it's worth, this isn’t Bluejammer’s first foray into this kind of work. There’s also the Rick Astley greatest hit and, pretty recently, full Jaws movie – this time with subtitles. Let’s just hope we don’t see Super Mario Bros. Movie next, ‘cause we all know that Nintendo's lawyers are always watching.
