Players Seek Cut Content in Unpatched Version of Cyberpunk 2077

An inquisitive gamer decided to see what Cyberpunk 2077 looked like when it went gold in October 2020.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Youtuber TylerMcViker decided to check out Cyberpunk 2077's condition at the point when the PS4 version went gold;
  2. There are quite a few differences between the release version and the unpatched one, including many changes in the interface.

Cyberpunk 2077 has come a long way to an acceptable condition (especially on last-gen consoles). Suffice to say, it was only two weeks ago that the game returned to the PS Store. However, if you'd want to go back in time to see what CD Projekt RED's title looked like before release - it's possible, as shown by youtuber Tyler McViker. If you own a physical copy of the game, you can remove all previous patches yourself, and then launch Cyberpunk offline to see its content before the day one patch. Tyler shares his findings in the video below (NOTE: this is for the PS4 version only):

This version is from October 2020, when the game went gold, i.e. it was decided that it could already be sent out to the pressing plant for boxed editions. October build of Cyberpunk 2077 has many interesting features for which there was no place in the final product. For example: originally the minimap was supposed to consist of 3D models; if we'd mark the destination point on top of a skyscraper, the game would show us how high we have to go. Changes in the interface do not end here - in the "gold" version we could freely rotate and look at every item in our inventory. Perk system is also different from what we got at release.

It's obvious that Cyberpunk without patches will contains a frightening number of bugs. Animations will be limited, or will not load at all. Be prepared for the game to crash even more often than in the December version. Nevertheless, if you are curious what CD Projekt RED removed from Cyberpunk 2077 in order to improve performance and quality, you have the opportunity to find out for yourself.
