Darkest Dungeon 2 Release Date and Demo

The full version of Darkest Dungeon 2 is heading to Steam and Epic Games Store, and a time-limited demo version has been made available in both stores.

Red Hook is gearing up for the release of Darkest Dungeon II, which will debut on May 8 on Epic Games Store and Steam. Originally (i.e. according to information June 2022) the title was supposed to come out of early access as early as February, but apparently the team needs more time to fine-tune the game.

The information was conveyed in a post on Twitter, but more information on the debut of version 1.0 can be found on the Darkest Dungeon's official website. The launch of early access will be preceded by several major updates, and the first will be made available "soon."

However, this is not the end of the good news. The team at Red Hook Studios has just released a demo of Darkest Dungeon II, which can be downloaded from both Steam and EGS.

The demo covers the entire first region and enables you to test the four starting heroes in battle (often for survival) against the terrors lurking in every nook and cranny of the valley. The demo will be available only until February 13 as part of the Steam Next festival.

Recall that Darkest Dungeon II will be a rather unusual sequel. We will still find here elements of roguelike, but the gameplay formula has been significantly changed. All the more reason to check out the demo and see if the new concept will appeal to fans (and players who bounced from the previous installment).
