Darkest Dungeon 2 Trailer Shows Great 3D Graphics

New Darkest Dungeon 2 trailer has hit the web. It shows gameplay in three-dimensional graphics and it looks great. The game has not lost anything in comparison with the two-dimensional original.

Red Hook Studios has released a new trailer for Darkest Dungeon II, the sequel to the popular RPG from 2016. The trailer was prepared to celebrate the early access release, scheduled for next week, and it looks great.

The video contains quite a lot of gameplay, which is important, because so far we've been treated mainly to climatic, but not much-showing teasers. First of all, we can take a good look at the novelty, which is the 3D graphics. The original was two-dimensional, but the trailer should calm the fears of fans of the first installment. Darkest Dungeon II is made in such a way that it very faithfully recreates the atmosphere and comic book style of the previous installment.

Darkest Dungeon 2 will launch in early access next Tuesday, on October 26. The project will be available only on Epic Games Store. Most likely, this is a temporary exclusivity and the game will be coming to Steam together with the release of the full version, as it happened in the case of, for example, Hades (or maybe earlier, as in the case of Satisfactory).

For now Darkest Dungeon II is being developed exclusively for PC. The first installment eventually made its way to consoles as well, and we'd be surprised if the sequel turned out differently.

The second installment promises to be very ambitious. Apart from 3D graphics, big changes have been introduced in the gameplay. First of all, Darkest Dungeon 2 puts more emphasis on roguelike aspects than its predecessor. While the original offered a campaign lasting several dozen hours, the sequel will focus on expeditions to the interior of a mountain, which last about 5 hours and most elements will be randomly generated, so that we can play the whole thing over and over again, each time getting a fresh experience. This solution is a significant departure from the solutions in the first Darkest Dungeon, so we're curious if it will result in equally enjoyable gameplay.
