Darkest Dungeon 2 Early Access Only in Epic Games Store

Red Hook Studios revealed the early access launch date of Darkest Dungeon II. The title will launch in Epic Games Store next year.

Red Hook Studio has not yet shared many details about the sequel of Darkest Dungeon. The game's new teaser changed nothing in this respect, but it reveals one important information. Darkest Dungeon 2 will debut in early access on Epic Games Store in 2021. The title will also be available on other digital distribution platforms on Pc, but only after the Early Access (via Reddit). Nothing specific has been mentioned about the launch on consoles so far. You can see the video below.

The short video does not reveal much about the gameplay. We have known about the return of the character classes known from the original for a long time, as well as about the apocalyptic scenery that will accompany us during our adventure. However, what is striking are 3D models of the characters instead of two-dimensional "drawings" known from the first game. It's not a trick prepared for the teaser - Darkest Dungeon II will offer 3D visuals, albeit in the style known from the original installment. The devs confirmed on the official website that the shots from the video come directly from the game, created on Unity engine. The team at Red Hook Studios also promises a refined combat system and a "brand new metagame".

Unfortunately, so far nothing more has been revealed about Darkest Dungeon 2. Nevertheless, the developers promised to reveal more information in the coming months. We take their word for it.
