Diablo 2 Resurrected's Revamped NPCs Presented

Another video from the Diablo 2: Resurrected series presenting visual upgrades in the game appeared on the web. The new video focuses on NPCs and their animations.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. A video showing close-ups of NPCs and their animations in Diablo 2: Resurrected was released;
  2. The NPC models are detailed, but fans complain about the aging of the characters and too "masculine" female models.

A video has appeared on PureDMG's YouTube channel showing the appearance of NPCs in Diablo 2: Resurrected. This is another episode in the series of materials dedicated to closer look at various aspects of the remaster of the iconic Diablo II. Previously, the authors examined the appearance of bosses and enemies, as well as items. The PureDiablo team went through the game's files and were able to create the material below.

The authors of the video emphasize that we should expect a second part devoted to NPCs, because there were simply so many of them that they could not fit them in such a short, several-minute form. Each of the characters presented in the material was given some time so that the viewer could look closely at the details of the model and its animations. Part 1 shows, among others, Sage Deckard Cain or priestess Akara. The models in the video look detailed and well-crafted, but fans have pointed out a few annoyances, such as the fact that some of the characters look very aged - many of their faces show clear (and, in the fans' opinion, unnecessary) signs of ageing, such as wrinkles - as in the case of Fara. Players point out the rather "masculine" look of the female faces:

"Even I, being a transgender woman, look more feminine than Charsi and Fara. What were they thinking?," writes one of the users.

Despite the fact that some of the models up close don't fall short of arousing universal praise, we should remember that Diablo II: Resurrected is an isometric game, so the camera is located high above the characters. Taking this into account, we can say that the models are quite detailed.

Diablo 2: Resurrected is to be released later this year on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
