Steam unexpectedly got a new hit in the category of hack'n'slash RPGs. Version 1.0 of The Slormancer is cranking out high activity scores and receiving very good feedback from players.
Hack'n'slash genre is currently dominated by big hits like Diablo IV and Path of Exile 2. The success of the pixel art game The Slormancer showed that smaller titles can still stand out in this genre, as long as they offer players a good time.
It's worth noting that this success only came after the launch of version 1.0. Right after the early access debut, the game set a record with 4614 concurrent players, but then lost most of them. Over the last four years, the game has had only a few dozen to a few hundred players at its peak times of the day.
The game is a classic hack'n'slash RPG, so the fun focuses on fighting hordes of enemies. The Slormancer offers three classes to choose from and several hundred abilities to unlock, allowing us to customize the character to our individual gameplay style. The title is intended solely for a single player.
The Slormancer is only available on PC. Right now on Steam, you can buy the game for $14.99. This is a special price, reduced by 25% for the release of the 1.0 version. The offer expires tomorrow evening.
