Blizzard Addresses Diablo 4 Problems, Announces First Real Patch

Since the release,Diablo 4 has already received eleven small patches (so-called hotfixes). In parallel, however, Blizzard Entertainment is working on the first major update. It and other plans of the developers were discussed in the Campfire Chat videopublished on the game's YouTube channel (available below).

1. The patch is ready for rollout. It has passed certification and should be released soon.
2. The update is expected to be big. The developers describe it as "the first real patch." The developers revealed thatthe list of changes takes up as many as thirteen pages. Among other things, the game's performance is to be improved.
3. The patch will be so large that its implementation will probably force a temporary shutdown of servers.
4. The developers also admitted that they are aware of the problems with losing connection to servers, troublesome especially for players playing in Hardcore mode. In it, every death is final, and after losing the connection the character stands motionless and is quickly killed, thus often wasting long hours of gameplay.
5. Developers have an interesting way to solve the problem with losing connection in Hardcore mode. There are magic scrolls in the game that enable the player to escape to the city. They will be activated automatically when the connection is lost. This way we will avoid the death of our character, but the fact that the scrolls will be consumed will prevent the abuse of this mechanic to escape from tough situations.
6. The developers also revealed that they have collected player feedback and based on it have created a list of planned changes. The ones that are easiest to implement will be introduced before the start of the first season, and those that require more work will appear only before the release of the second season (that is, closer to the end of the year).

Recall that Diablo 4 was released on June 6, 2023 simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
