Elon Musk Wants Dogecoin on the Moon, Literally

Elon Musk came up with the idea to put the Dogecoin cryptocurrency on our natural satellite. He published such information on Twitter, and the price of DOGE immediately went through the roof.

Mankind already has some experience in sending canines into space. One of the first astronauts was a dog, although unfortunately that story did not have a happy ending. Perhaps that's why Elon Musk, who has just come up with the idea of re-involving quadrupeds in space exploration, has decided to do it in a more humane way. Instead of a living creature, he intends to send the famous Doge into space. And it's not even about the meme here, but the cryptocurrency. Yes, Elon Musk plans to put Dogecoin on the moon.

But wait a minute... April Fool's Day. This explains it. However, even if this is just an April Fool's joke, the reaction of the price of this cryptocurrency is as real as it can be and a bit shocking. Within minutes after the tweet was published, Dogecoin value jumped by 35%.

In a short period of time, instead of $0.054, you could already get over $0.071 for the crypto (this is the peak reported by Coindesk). Admittedly, the exchange rate dropped quite quickly and currently remains below $0.06 per DOGE, but this whole situation perfectly illustrates how vulnerable the crypto market is. Or how relevant Musk's statements are, even if they are just a joke. If flying Starship prototypes worked out as well for him as causing a fuss about cryptocurrencies, we'd already be colonizing Mars.
