Enshrouded, the popular co-op survival RPG, announced today that the next major update is planned for sometime next month.
The next update for the popular survival crafting multiplayer game, Enshrouded, which launched last summer, was announced today during the Triple-i initiative showcase. The sixth update will be titled Thralls of Twilight and is planned to launch next month. Enshrouded is still in Early Access on Steam, but has found a solid audience of players, with thousands of players still logging in daily according to SteamDB.
Enshrouded is a co-op survival action RPG, where up to sixteen players can work together to explore a vast open world. As the last Flameborn, you will encounter corrupting fog, deadly bosses, and reclaim your kingdom. This is the kind of game players can spend many hours in. While the game has not seen as high numbers as when it first launched in Early Access, there has been a noticeable bump with every update, especially the latest one in November. This planned update could be exactly the momentum the game needs.
Today’s trailer is just a teaser, but the developer Keen Games, has updated players via a post on their Steam page. In the post they say “…over the next few weeks, we’ll be teasing the update in more detail. Keep an eye out on our socials so you don’t miss anything.” This was also shared alongside the news that the game has recently hit a major milestone: four million players.
So, while we don’t know what exactly to expect from this next update, we do know that it’s not too far away. There isn’t an exact release date yet, but today’s announcement shared that the update will launch sometime in May. From the trailer, it looks like there will be new areas to explore, enemies to fight, and powers to wield, it’s just a matter of the specifics.
For now, Enshrouded remains in Early Access. They continue to push out content updates at a regular pace, but if any fans are waiting for the full launch, you will have to keep waiting. When Enshrouded does eventually reach 1.0, chances are it will be a huge high point for the game.
