Epic Offers New Free Services for Developers; Voice Chat and Easy Anti-Cheat for All

Epic has just offered game developers two new online services for free. We're talking about Voice, a proprietary voice messenger, and the popular Easy Anti-Cheat solution.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Epic Online Services offers game developers two free services;
  • The first one is Voice, a tool that allows for a simple implementation of voice chat into any production;
  • Another service is Easy Anti-Cheat, which is a well-known anti-cheat measure, present on the market for years.

Epic has just decided to take another step to help game developers. The company has offered its two online services, Voice and Easy Anti-Cheat, to developers for free. This means that developers will be able to easily use ready-made tools to speed up the work on their games.

The first of these services, Voice, is a proprietary voice communicator, which was previously tested in Fortnite. It is a multiplatform tool offering stable chat through Epic Online Services servers, which can be easily implemented in any title. Its use in the popular battle royale from Epic Games proved that it can function even in titles with a huge number of players. Now other developers will be able to use it for free.

Easy Anti-Cheat, on the other hand, is a long-standing anti-cheat security feature that joined the Epic family in 2018. It has consistently protected players of titles like Halo, The Division 2, and Dead by Daylight. Now that it will be available to every developer, the number of games using the solution is likely to increase dramatically. Moreover, Easy Anti-Cheat will be a tool directly integrated with other services offered by the company, namely Player Sanctions and Player Reports.

It seems that Epic has decided to make the life of game developers much easier. Taking into account the effectiveness of both aforementioned services, we can conclude that the company's deal is quite tasty.
