Evolve devs working on a new IP, a dark fantasy co-op FPS

After delivering Evolve and two Left 4 Dead games, Turtle Rock Studios are preparing another co-op FPS. This one is going to be a new, dark fantasy IP.

Creators of the Left for Dead franchise and the recently “deceased” Evolve, Turtle Rock Studios, are working on another game – and no, it isn’t Left for Dead 3. Although this one will be a co-op first-person shooter too, it is said to be a new IP, set in a dark fantasy universe, the team revealed to GameIndusty.biz. “We're focusing on what we do best - heart-pounding moment-to-moment online co-op FPS action”, said Phil Robb, co-funder of the studio, and stressed that this is not a spiritual successor of any kind, but a brand new franchise.

For this new game Turtle Rock Studios are partnering with Perfect World Entertainment, a publishing company dealing with free-to-play titles, such as Neverwinter, Gigantic, and Star Trek Online, meaning that this one too will most probably be free-to-play. The studio promises to listen carefully to players’ feedback and continue to expand the game for many years after the release. Hopefully, this means less paid DLCs and more free content than it initially was with Evolve. No release date or target platforms for the new title were revealed so far.
