F1 22 has just been officially announced. The thirteenth installment in the series of racing games based on the license of Formula 1 from Codemasters will debut on July 1 (although you will be able to play it from 28 June if you pre-order the Champions Edition). The title will hit PCs, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Xbox One and PS4. It will also offer support for VR goggles on PC.
It looks like the rumors have been confirmed. The game will feature F1 Life space that will enable players to show off their unlocked clothes, accessories and supercars. At the moment there are no details about this module - its description is limited to slogans such as "taste the glitz and glamour of Formula 1".
The control model in F1 22 is supposed to be more realistic than in previous installments.. Additionally, the new part will offer adaptive AI, which will provide less experienced virtual drivers with a balanced level of difficulty. What's more, the game's Steam page reads:
"Take control of the virtual F1 experience with immersive cinematic formation laps, safety car runs, interactive pit stops and all-new high-speed races."
On the website of Electronic Arts (the game's publisher) there is information on the locations we will be visiting in F1 22 and also about the implementation of sprint, which debuted in last season of real-life Formula 1.
"[...] Test your talent among Florida's iconic palm trees across 19 challenging corners of the vibrant new Miami International Autodrome and give it your all in F1 Sprint, appearing for the first time in F1 22."
F1 22 will see the return of the My Team and Career modes. There will also be local competitions on split screen (for two people) and network multiplayer.
Pre-orders have already begun. It is also worth mentioning the EA Play Pro subscription, the subscribers of which will be among the first people admitted to the full version of F1 22.
