Far Cry 6 Producer Emile Liang has Left the Company

After more than two decades of working at Ubisoft, Emile Liang, the producer of, among others, Far Cry 6, said goodbye to the company. However, this should not negatively affect the sixth installment.

Ubisoft lost Emile Liang, the producer of Far Cry 6. It was the decision of the developer himself, who decided to go into partial retirement. He will remain active in the game industry, but in a different form. The dev intends to focus on his startup SkillTree, which aims to help other game creators develop their careers and skills.

Emile Liang has spent the last five years at Ubisoft Montreal, working on Far Cry 6. The game is already in the final stages of production and will be released in less than two months. Thus, the producer's departure will not affect the project.

Liang is a veteran who has worked at Ubisoft for 24 years. He took the position of producer in Ubisoft Montreal only a year after the studio was founded. The first project he supervised was Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Later he worked on Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Assassin's Creed III and Assassin's Creed Unity.

Emile Liang then moved to the Toronto branch, where he served as producer on Far Cry 4, Far Cry Primal and Far Cry 6.

It is worth noting that it is not the only important developer working on FC6 who recently said goodbye to Ubisoft. In March this year, the company lost senior gameplay designer Marc McGinley. He was a newer acquisition and was hired in 2017 specifically to work on the sixth installment of the FPS series.

Far Cry 6 is coming to PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, and the game will debut on October 7 this year.
