Mods for Assassin’s Creed Shadows are already rolling in. Here are some of the usual ones and a few unexpected surprises.
Looks like Assassin’s Creed Shadows isn’t too bad after all. Early reviews from critics and players (check ours for the full breakdown) suggest it’s still a fun AC game. Sure, it launched with a few problems like Ubisoft Connect issues, audio bugs, and fans quickly noticed cutscenes are locked at 30 FPS, but overall the response has been pretty positive. And of course, less than a day after launch there are already plenty of mods to check out.
The modding community is as active as ever, so the number of AC Shadows mods is growing by the minute. You’ve got the usual ones like optimization, HDR fixes, intro skip, and HUD-hiding mods, but there are also some pretty interesting ones popping up.
The Remove Silly Effects mod gets rid of the white stealth outline, orange armor glow on damaged enemies, sword trails, and loot sparkles, because who wants to play with all that nonsense? The creator, X35129, is now working on removing other unnecessary indicators that are apparently ruining the immersion.
But to be honest, I get it. Some people might not mind these things, but for others, unnecessary markers and effects can be pretty annoying. And instead of just complaining, someone actually did something about it.

Been with gamepressure.com since 2019, mostly writing game guides but you can also find me geeking out about LEGO (huge collection, btw). Love RPGs and classic RTSs, also adore quirky indie games. Even with a ton of games, sometimes I just gotta fire up Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, KOTOR, or Baldur's Gate 2 (Shadows of Amn, the OG, not that Throne of Bhaal stuff). When I'm not gaming, I'm probably painting miniatures or admiring my collection of retro consoles.
