Back to the Future Part II featured The Lord of the Rings star whose presence in the film may have been overlooked by many viewers.
Many movie fans are probably already familiar with the Back to the Future films by heart, but it turns out that these still manage to hide some secrets that not everyone knew about. The films are more than 30 years old, so many of the details may simply have once not mattered as much as they do today.
And one such detail was the involvement of the future star of The Lord of the Rings trilogy in Back to the Future Part II. Many viewers may not have noticed it, but Elijah Wood, known to LOTR fans as Frodo, took part in the production. He had a minor role – viewers of Back to the Future Part II could see him in the scene in which Marty arrived in 2015 and went to the Cafe 80s, where, while playing a slot machine, he saw a boy in a strange green hat next to him – that was Elijah Wood (via Allocine).

The actor was 8 years old at the time, and that was his first film role, which was followed by others of increasing importance, such as the one in Forever Young alongside Mel Gibson, until he finally starred in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, which gave him his greatest recognition, as well as in Green Street Hooligans, another hit in which he starred alongside Charlie Hunnam.
Wood started his film career with a real hit – not every actor has scored a debut in such a significant and popular movie, so Wood managed to have a really good start. Although he appeared in commercials before Back to the Future Part II, Wood confessed during an interview with Deadline in the video series The Film That Lit My Fuse that it was his participation in that production that gave him a better understanding of acting.
