Building Stays in Fortnite; Tim Sweeney Announces Big Changes to Creative Mode

Building stays in Fortnite. Tim Sweeney has announced that there will be some big changes to the creative mode.

Building will remain a permanent element of Fortnite. Currently, players can take advantage of two modes: the first offers classic gameplay including the well-loved building mechanic, and the second is the recently introduced Zero Build option, in which players must demonstrate primarily combat skills.

The possibility to build has disappeared from Fortnite with the new season of the game. Then players received the Zero Build mode, which included a lot of new features, including superweapons, which are the first line of defense in clash with opponents. During the gameplay you had to rely on your own skills and reflexes. Such a significant change divided players, because some of them thought that Fortnite is becoming too similiar to other battle royale games, while the rest of the fans praised the developers for the bold changes. However, fans of erecting their own structures can breathe a sigh of relief, because building will remain a constant element of Fortnite. It is available as one of two game modes:

  • Classic mode, which still enables us to build structures.
  • Zero Build mode, in which building is no longer available. It's all about skill, reflexes, and creativity in using the terrain. In order to get above your opponent, you need to climb or use lifts, which take your character on board the airship.

Creative mode changes are coming

However, this is not all the news related to Fortnite. Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games , wrote on Twitter that his company is currently working on versions 2.0 and 3.0 of the economy in creative mode, and players should "expect big changes later this year." It's unclear what direction the changes will take, however. This could range from additional tools for creating structures to economic changes, where custom map creators have so far received a 5% share of the profits for every $100 a player spends in Fortnite.
