Europe's largest game fair will grow and break its own records again. gamescom 2025 will see even more exhibitors than last year.
The annual gamescom fair is one of the few gaming events that are still organized in a traditional way. Despite the growing popularity of independent presentations from major publishers (such as PlayStation Showcase, Xbox Games Showcase, or Nintendo Direct), the hosts of gamescom 2025 have once again heavily invested in making the event in Cologne the best it can be - this year's edition is set to be the biggest in history.
At gamescom 2025, a record number of exhibitors will be present. There will be 11% more of them than last year (gamescom 2024 was the largest edition of the German trade fair in this respect). At the event, companies such as Bethesda, Capcom, CD Projekt Red, CI Games, Electronic Arts, Konami, Nintendo, and Ubisoft will appear.
Due to the increased interest, the space where the fair takes place will also be expanded. For example, the "entertainment zone" will receive an additional hall. The event organizers are really excited, and they're talking about "setting new standards" with this year's gamescom.
The figures speak for themselves. gamescom 2025 will be bigger, more thrilling and once again the beating heart of the global gaming community. Together with the industry and strong partners, we are set to captivate fans and set new standards - said Tim Endres, Director of gamescom.
The opening of the trade fair in Germany will be broadcast live as usual during the Opening Night Live event. It will start on Tuesday, August 19 at 10:30 am PT. Just like last year, the event will be hosted by Eefje "sjokz" Depoortere and Geoff Keighley. The main event will take place on August 20-24.
It's confirmed that Activision will be part of ONL 2025 and will showcase the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
