Games on Twitter in 2021:
  1. Genshin Impact was the most popular game;
  2. E3 2021 was the most popular event;
  3. Japanese people tweeted the most about video games.

An interesting article was published on the official Twitter blog, summarizing the past year in terms of discussions about video games. In 2021, users of the service sent 2.4 billion messages on this topic, which is 14% more than in 2020 and ten times more than in 2017.

The last quarter of 2021 recorded an all-time best result in terms of video game-related activity on Twitter. The most popular games among the service's users was Genshin Impact. The second place was taken by Apex Legends, and the final spot by Ensemble Stars!

Especially the result of the last of the games is impressive, since it is a mobile item available only in Japan. This is not surprising, however, as the residents of the Land of the Rising Sun tweeted about video games the most in the world last year.
