Sons of the Forest debuted on Steam in early access, and as expected, the game is getting a lot of attention. Suffice it to say that at the time of writing this text, the game is being played by more than 200,000 users at the same time. The title is praised, among other things, for its pleasant gameplay or nice visuals, but many players were captivated by one more aspect, and his name is Kelvin..

Kelvin is a castaway whom we can encounter at the very beginning of the game. Due to the accident, this character is deaf and can only communicate using a command notebook.. Fortunately, the boy has a vest with his name on it, so at least we know who will help us survive in this dangerous place.
To put it mildly, Sons of the Forest is not free of bugs, which sometimes results in funny situations starring Kelvin. From the graphic above you can see our helper standing among the logs after taking down the tree on which the base was being built. The NPC was tasked with harvesting the wood and apparently came to the conclusion that cutting down this particular tree would be a good idea. It reminds me a bit of the scene from The Witcher 3, when a troll was supposed to guard the boats and decided to chop them into pieces and build a fence out of them, so they can defend themselves.
On Reddit there is no shortage of threads related to Kelvin, and although many of them describe bugs and various odd situations, it is clear in the comments that many players have come to love this character precisely because of his behavior.
"Guys, I don't think it's a bug. It's simply Kelvin," wrote babybearhead
The behavior of our titular golden boy is obviously due to the fact that the game is in early access and the developers still have a lot to improve. However, some players prefer to explain Kelvin's entering the bonfire by the desire to warm up, rather than a bug. If you play Sons of the Forest and you are fed up with this NPC's sluggishness, issue him a command ordering him to rest. Then Kelvin is likely to sit still or, as he sometimes has a habit of doing, start levitating.
