According to leaks, GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition may eventually make its way to both Steam and Epic Games Store. Until now, the PC edition was only available through Rockstar's launcher.
Released in 2021 Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, a refreshed compilation of three iconic games from Rockstar Games, was not a successful work. The developers apologized for its abysmal condition at launch. Also free giveaways for those who purchased the new version of the trilogy further confirm the developers' shame. Despite all this, it looks like the developer will still want to make GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition available to more people.
This is stated in the updated source code of Rockstar Games' launcher, which was pointed out on Twitter by user @videotech_. The screenshots he released indicate that GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition may be coming soon to both Steam and Epic Games Store.
However, this should not be taken as confirmed information - similar indications have already appeared before the game's release. In the new code, there are similar lines with the phrases "gta3unreal," "gtavcunreal" and "gtasaunreal" (talking about refreshed versions of the games from The Definitive Edition), written under the headlines "steamapps" and "epicapps" - hence the renewed speculation of a release on Steam and Epic Games Store.
Even though GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition will be released on more platforms, will it encourage new players to buy it? After all, there is a belief among fans that it is already better to get the original versions of GTA III, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas than the 2021 re-release.
