Hackers have been executing DDoS attack on Arma Reforger and DayZ servers for a week, now reportedly demanding ransom
The DDoS storm rages on, with new reports suggesting that the group Style Squad Reborn is behind the attacks on DayZ and ArmA Reforger servers.

It hasn’t been a great week for ArmA Reforger, as their server issues are far from resolved. The situation began when lead developer Klamacz posted on X, revealing that the game was under a DDoS attack. Now, the internet is buzzing about who might be responsible, while one group claims responsibility.
Hackers behind DDoS attacks on ArmA Reforger and DayZ
On February 1, 2025, Bohemia Interactive revealed that the DDoS attacks weren’t limited to ArmA Reforger but had also impacted DayZ. A group called Xiangjang_zhi on X (AKA StyleSquad6996), claimed responsibility for the attacks earlier that day.
It didn’t take long for discussions to blow up on Reddit and X, with people digging for more details about the hackers’ identities and spreading awareness about the ongoing situation. Some users pointed out that the account in question had a Chinese name, but it was soon revealed to be a group of Russians. According to current theories, the motive behind the attack may be related to community-hosted servers in ArmA that allowed for simulations of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Style squad reborn keeps updating on its activities on the Telegram app. While not everything, like pictures, can be translated by your browser, you can still get the gist of it.
As for their demands, the hackers are allegedly asking for a ransom of 0,8 bitcoin, roughly $81,000. However, some reports suggest that the attacks wad really carried out ‘for fun’, making their true intentions even more unclear.
It seems the attacks have temporarily stopped, as the latest tweets from Xingjang-zhi now demand contact with Klamacz. However, the servers still appear to be down. There has been no official statement from Bohemia Interactive or the lead developer regarding the recent events.
