Here's the trailer for Self Reliance. Comedy from Jake Johnson to debut exclusively on Hulu, there's a release date

Jake Johnson, the actor known for his roles in productions like Jurassic World, The Mummy, and the animated series Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, has chosen to test his skills as a director, screenwriter, and lead actor in the full-length comedy Self Reliance. The crazy show, set to premiere on January 12, 2024 on Hulu, has just unveiled its first teaser. You can watch the trailer below.

Johnson portrays Tommy Walcott in Self Reliance, a man who lives a calm, at times even dull life. However, this situation changes when one day he meets Andy Samberg (played by himself). The star of the Brooklyn Nine-Nine series invites Walcott to take part in a reality show where he can win a million dollars by evading hunters trying to kill him for a month. The only condition is that the killers cannot attack Johnson when he has company. Therefore, Walcott needs to make sure that he isn't by himself in his adventure.

The film will also feature: Anna Kendrick, Natalie Morales, GaTa, Emily Hampshire, Mary Holland, Boban Marjanovic, Christopher Lloyd, and Wayne Brady.
