With Lack of PS4 Version Horizon Forbidden West DLC Will Deliver Combat Like We've Never Seen Before

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores is expected to benefit from abandoning the PS4 version. Among other things, the title's visuals will be improved thanks to this.

Although the project went off the radar recently, the release of Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores is fast approaching. In connection with this, the director of the DLC - Mathijs de Jonge - revealed some new information. He assured that the DLC will benefit from the fact that it will come out only on PS5.

In a post that we can read on the PlayStation Blog, the developer praises the capabilities of Sony's latest console. According to him the abandonment of the PS4 version has increased the creative options of Guerrilla Games, the studio responsible for the game. This is because the limitations that had to be taken into account when designing a game for the now rather aged device have been lifted.

  1. Of course, the first to benefit from this will be the game's visuals. Creating the DLC only for the PS5 will enable the team to offer the players much more detailed visuals and the prettiest possible version of post-apocalyptic Los Angeles.
  2. The draw distance of the graphics will be increased. As a result, the landscapes will be extremely picturesque and highly detailed at the same time.
  3. The abandonment of the PS4 was to allow for the inclusion of some incredibly spectacular combat sequences in the DLC, which will reportedly consume a great deal of computing power. Mathijs de Jonge, of course, did not reveal details, but it seems that Burning Shores promises significantly more impressive clashes than in the base game..
  4. There will also be other technical improvements. Among other things, the expansion will offer a 40 Hz mode and variable refresh rate (VRR).

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores will debut on April 19. As of this moment, the DLCs' card has not yet appeared in the PS Store, so we do not know the price.
